Excellent food and friendly staff overlooking a bowling green within a 5 min walk.
An amazing cafe situation at the heart of one of Southend’s oldest bowling greens. Inspired by antique French decor, its old world charm and the excellence of its cooking has to be experienced. You can take breakfast there, brunch or early evening meal, and you can also book a full afternoon tea if you let them know in advance. Plants trail round the windows with comfy seats and a wood burning stove inside for winter, Petit Petanque is a real treat to let yourself in for.

Great value afternoon tea, bottomless brunch and cocktails. A delightful and artistic venue.
An artistic restaurant with quality food at reasonable prices. The decor is artistic, elegant and different with painting of the Cistine Chapel mixed with antique sofas and tables. The ambiance is special and its a place to relax in the evening know you will be served well in somewhere really special. We have been going there for years and really appreciate having it so close by.

Go round the corner to the Cliffs Pavillion, and go down the steps to the beach to find our very own Southend ice cream in generous servings by the sea.
The traditional seaside ice cream made by local family the Rossi’s. Their ice cream has been part of Southend life for years and you can see picture of the owners family inside going back decades. They serve hot food on the sea front with a particularly good breakfast, and then a dazzling variety of ice creams to tempt every palet. We particularly like the vanilla ice cream fresh from the churn they serve in extremely generous portions. You can relax beside the sea stopping for a snack or something more substantial here, and won’t forget the experience.
